SEPTEMBER - BACK TO YOU

There are so many business coaches nowadays so I thought it might be helpful to explain what it is they are there to do and why it might help you to hire one!

Whether you are a one-man band or you have a staff of 100, a coach can help you become more successful, more productive and therefore more likely to achieve the goals you have set yourself.

Coaching is a rapidly growing industry – because it works!!

Only 15% of small business owners have a coach and those that do are in the top 30% in terms of performance.

A business coach might not be for everyone, but if you are currently on the fence as to whether this is a process that would help you- here are a few reasons why it might!

1. ACCOUNTABILITY

When we have someone to hold us to account we are more likely to do it. At work this would traditionally be your boss but when you work for yourself deadlines can easily slide into the “I will do it tomorrow pile”.

It’s so easy to procrastinate or skip things if you’re not held accountable. Without accountability, most people fall into the “I’ll do it tomorrow” trap. And it never gets done!

When you are accountable you are likely to get more done which often translates to success.

2. IDENTIFY YOUR BLOCKERS

The reason that most of us aren’t as successful as we would like is ourselves, often we will have real or perceived blocks that stop us making progress.

A good coach can help you to identify what your blockers are and give you strategies and tools to overcome them.

3. COMMITMENT

When you pay for a business coach you are making a commitment to yourself and this means you are more likely to make it work.

When you have a coach you are making a psychological commitment to achieve your goals which means you are more likely to achieve them.

4. ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE

When you are working in your business, it can be hard to have perspective. A business coach can give you another perspective and will ask you probing questions to help you identify the best way forward.

They help you to sort through your ideas and find the ones that are going to be best for you and your business.

5. LEARNING FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS DONE IT

Most credible business coaches have experience in business and they run their own successful businesses.

They have been where you are and understand how the business world operates. You can make use of their wealth of experience.

6. EXPAND YOUR HORIZONS

Business coaches will help you to dream big, clients have gone on to start different businesses than those they originally identified OR have had much bigger success.

A good coach will help you to see what is possible and will point out opportunities that you can exploit.

7. SAVES TIME, MONEY AND EFFORT

Having a coach helps you fast track your progress and save time, money and effort (the initial investment in the coach is often much lower than what you would spend without one)

8. HELPS YOU TO PRIORITISE

It can be overwhelming when you are thinking about where to start, a coach can help you identify the tasks and activities that will move you forward.

9. YOUR NETWORK

A lot of success is based on your network and the people you spend the most time with. Investing in a coach who is successful means that you are up levelling your network.

Through the coaches I have worked with, I have made friends with other successful people and have an entrepreneurial network I wouldn’t have dreamed about 2 years ago.

10. CHALLENGES YOU TO LEAVE YOUR COMFORT ZONE

Coaching can be an uncomfortable process, change can take time and there may what feels like lots of “work” to do before you are successful. A coach will continue to challenge and support you to be the best version of yourself which means you will make more progress.

A well qualified, experienced business coach can be one of the best investments you make in your business.

I hope that has helped explain a bit more of what a coach actually does. If you want to find out more about how I could help you- then please get in touch…we can talk through where you are at, where you are wanting to get to and work out a plan of action of how we can work together to achieve this!
