A local love of mine….

A local love of mine….

I have been a pretty big fan of Bodega Womanswear for a while….it came onto my radar when I was passing to go into the Farrow and Ball store which is located just a few doors down from it on Suffolk Parade in Cheltenham. (There is also another Bodega store in Worcester on The Tything) I went in to have a look and was so pleasantly surprised by what they stocked, I have been raving about it to my clients and friends ever since.

The shop is run by Sarah-Jane who is just so lovely; calm, helpful, knowledgeable and with amazing taste. Her eye for beautiful colours, styling and for creating a shop that is inviting and sophisticated; but not intimidating, is a real talent.

She invited me in last week to have a look around and to show me the new collection – so here are my thoughts and what caught my eye.

Layout and styling

The layout of the shop and how Sarah-Jane has styled it, makes it so much easier to navigate as it is logically organised and colours that work well together are displayed together. However, further to this, great styling helps you to know what you can put with what- essentially you are shopping “painting by numbers” – stylie!

I love the rust and the navy blues together …and on the other side of the shop she has arranged the greys/charcoals and creams, which are so complementary to each other.

Price points/Styles of clothes stocked:

The price points of the ranges stocked goes from £20 for a strappy top up to around £250 for a coat or jacket. I would say the main type of clothes are for smart/casual- ie nice jumpers, silky shirts, pleather trousers, layered tops, scarves, boots and bags.

Here is am with a fabulous clutch:

But she does stock a brilliant range of dresses around the £100 mark which can be thrown in the washing machine and be office-ready in a few hours! There are also some fantastic coat/dresses, which would be ideal for a day at the races as they are smart and warm but still fitted and flattering.

The PERFECT olive green, single breasted jacket/coat…amazing quality and fit…

I was SO tempted by SO many things…but here are some pictures of the items I could not leave the shop without…

Pleather leggings…they are SO comfortable…you hardly know you have them on! Really stretchy- like you are wearing normal jersey leggings…except these are a bit more interesting with the texture of the pleather coating. These ones come in olive as well as navy. Priced at £79.00.

The star jumper is my own from last year from Luella. Bodega stock this range this year and the style comes in other colours – grey and stone and is £65. It washes really well and keeps its shape which is amazing considering it is a wool/cashmere mix.

Olive green jumper dress is £79 very easy to wear as doesn’t cling! I’m wearing mine here with ankle boots but this could easily be dressed up with some high heels to wear to a smarter occasion.

I teamed it up with the most DIVINE leopard-print coat…£179.00

Which I have also worn in other ways….

Casual…with a jumper/wide trousers and trainers…

Or corporate – for the office!

The print is just fantastic as it can be put with so many other colours- therefore getting maximum potential for wear!

Bodega also stocks fantastic gilets in real fur…

…this one is navy but they also do grey, black, mocha and chocolate Prices range from £119-195  and they are SO warm but really light- so the perfect add-on layer without adding weight or bulk. I have teamed mine over a layered pink top (for those of you who have had their colours done with me- this pink is THE ”Blush pink” in your pallet- the perfect yellow undertone to warm your skin tone!)

My final pick was this long cardigan with the most brilliant tie detail at the back.

So often cardigans like this have a ridiculously narrow belt which does so little and pulls you in far too sharply at the waist which makes even the smallest bottom look huge. Whereas this one is so much more flattering as the tie is wider. From the front it hangs beautifully straight down and from the back- it adds so much interest.

A real win-win! It retails at £129.

So that’s my round up of what I think is a brilliant shop- giving great service and stocking really wearable, stylish clothes at an affordable price point. I want to reassure you that I only recommend shops and products that I genuinely think are great…so I promise- a visit here won’t disappoint.

You can order online too…(their website is www.bodegawomanswear.co.uk – it is due to go live in the next few days…) and they are offering my readers a 10% discount…so if there is anything you see here or on their Instagram feed  that you like the look of- give the a call- mentioning this offer.

Have a lovely weekend… xxx
