Baukjen vibes for July

Baukjen vibes for July

Hello! I hope you had a great week? By the time you’re reading this I will be in Cornwall, hopefully sipping on a gin and tonic, ready to start my holiday! However, this blog has been timed to coincide with the release of Baukjen’s collection for July- so I have chosen my key picks from it and as expected- I have a few things to say about each one!

Addison Dress: £99

A simple, timeless, classic at an affordable price point for the amount of wear you will get out of it. This staple piece will work from office to party (with the addition of some strappy heels/ wedges and an oversized earing or two!) If you have a defined waist or if you need to make your shoulders look broader as you are bottom heavy this dress will deliver on both counts. However, be aware of the way the dress is tied at the front and the subsequent pleats this makes. The folds in the fabric could easily make you look pregnant if you hold weight on your tummy!

Ophelia skirt: £89

A great skirt option if you are top heavy on two counts.

1. The print draws your attention to your lower half

2. It has a dropped waist so the detail and gathered fabric will be around your thighs.

Both styling details are great for you as you need a bit more shape in this area!

I love the leopard print in this colour way -can easily be worn with white, blue, navy, black and pewter….so lots of possibilities to get the wear out of it!

Phoebe Blazer: £229

I have this jacket in cream and it is so useful as it fits beautifully into the waist and can make an “average top and trousers” suddenly look so much smarter with very little effort. It is on the longer side so if you are petite be careful of this as it could mess with your proportions. If black isn’t the best colour for you wear with a necklace this is so that it distracts from the black.

Ruth Jumper: £99

I really like the open texture and weave of this jumper -bringing immediate interest to your top half.  The camel colour will work for all of you with a warm skin tone and if you put touches of gold with it- such as a belt or a necklace – it will work even better.

Signature belt: £65

 Clemence Necklace: £25

Because it is quite lightweight it is easy to tuck just a little bit of it into your trousers or skirt so that it gives you a little more shape. Worn with white or black trousers or skirt it’s a staple item that will be useful for years.

Ella Top: £65

The colour of this is stunning; and will work for many different colour groups. The fact that it is “fitted” at the hip but more ‘relaxed’ in the torso means that it will be flattering for those of you with a full tummy and curvy bust. When you wear a colour as great as this it really does elevate your outfit from “just jeans and T-shirt “ to something so much more striking!

Kara Leather Jacket: £449

I know I bang on about Bauken’s leather jackets so much but they really are worth the hype! I especially love this one as it is so much more flattering for so many people’s skin tone then the regular “black leather jacket with silver metal work” that is so common. Navy blue is a staple neutral colour for all colour groups so with this one- you cannot go wrong! The quality of the leather is so super soft – every time I wear my one people can’t stop stroking it and immediately comment on the fact you can tell it’s real leather.

So many people have got in touch with me to tell me they bought this on my recomendation and are so pleased wiht it. I appreciate it is an a lot of money and it will be “an investment”- but it really is worth it as it will last you for years, won’t date and will go with your entire wardrobe!

I have a 20% off discount code –  “Kate20AW” – please use and circulate to your friends if you think they may be interested!
