A delicious spring competition…
Hello! I hope you are all doing ok and are having a good week? Today I have a short but very sweet blog on Baukjen’s latest drop which coincides with a competition I am running with them this week. We have teamed up to give the lucky winner a £250 voucher to spend on the Baukjen collection and a three month subscription to my membership (worth £108). To enter- all you need to do is go to this post on my Instagram page and follow the instructions…the winner will be announced tomorrow…good luck!
To get you in the mood for making a mental list of what you might buy if you won…here are a few of my favourite pieces and advice as to who they would work for…I hope it helps you to make your decisions easily!
The colour of this dress is divine and is one that is often overlooked by many. Baukjen have used it before in a hoodie design and when I wore it on Instagram my followers were dubious but quite a few gave it a go. I then got SO many messages from them once they had received their order telling me how much they love it and how it was a colour that they had never considered before but they are so pleased that they now know it works for them! It’s called Verbena (but you could also call it mint)..it works for those with soft, light or warm colouring. Those of you who have read my blogs for a while may be thinking that the black polka dots in the dress means these colour groups couldn’t wear it as black isn’t a great colour for them. However, my thinking is that the dots are not big enough to make that amount of impact- so it will be fine!
I am literally having to sit on my hands not to order this top…I am a total sucker for broderie Anglaise, but I know I do NOT need any more tops in it!
This one is so pretty and delicate and will be such a useful addition as you can dress it casually with boyfriend jeans and wedges or dress it up with a leather trousers and heels. It is in a soft white so works for everyone- although if you are very dark in colouring, white is not an ideal colour to wear in great quantity next to your face…so possibly layer it with another colour that works better for you.
Oh my…what a nostalgic top…I LOVE it!! I have been watching ‘Anne with an E’ on Netflix with my girls (based on the stories of Anne of Green Gables) and this top so reminds me of the stunning fashions they wore at the turn of the last century. The slightly puffed sleeves, the lack of a collar and the gingham print…absolutely gorgeous! This would be brilliant for those of you who are cool or clear in colouring due to the contrast of the black and white; a simple top that could inject such a great additional into a capsule wardrobe. Style-wise be careful if you have a full bust due to the fabric and cut….but will be great if you are bottom heavy and have a small bust. So many styling options you will be spoilt for choice but if I was you I would try it with black dungarees and sliders or denim cut offs with black wedges….just a thought!
I had to include this jacket…(modelled by Baukjen herself) as I think it would be so useful. If khaki or olive is a good neutral for you, then this will be a great addition due to how much it will go with in your wardrobe; navy, cream, brown, rust, black…so many possibilities!
Style wise it’ll be good for those of your with straight body shapes as it has this pleat in the back.
If ever there was a “chuck on and go” dress…this is IT! Great quality fabric and even has the hoodie style pocket at the front. Careful if you hold weight on your tummy though as this feature will only add bulk here.
White, cropped jeans…in my opinion an easier option for many vs the white skinny jeans as they will obviously cling and hug less…which is always a good thing when wearing a light fabric! If you haven’t tried the Baukjen jeans before I would really recommend them…generous sizing, good quality and they don’t lose their shape. If you are on the petite side be careful that this trouser style doesn’t “chop” your leg off too short. If this is the case – try wearing with either tan/beige shoes as these will cause the least colour change on your leg.
