Festival chic…

Festival chic…

If you thought that Festival dressing was all about wellies and waterproofs, think again. A girl (or boy) has to consider at great length what she (he) is going to wear to this  year’s festivals. It isn’t just about bunging a few things in a rucksack and off you go any more….for many- what you are wearing is all part of the creative experience.

I am so excited as I am off to Feastival this year with my crew and a group of friends and all their kids…a day of dancing to Mr Tumble and Faithless spins the head somewhat but at least there is something for everyone! Whichever one you are going to (and I know this blog is a bit late to the party as there have been so many festivals already this summer- sorry about that!) I thought it might be helpful to throw some style ideas out there in case you needed some inspiration!

Ethnic print trousers are practical and stylish. Keep the tops plain and you will be able to mix and match all weekend. Team with a cross-body embroidered bag to hold all your valuables. I am loving mine from @giftpop …so comfy and easy to pull on/off when doing the infamous loo-run!

The shorts

Denim cut-offs have always been a festival staple. Wear with gladiator sandals and a shirt if sunny, or coloured wellies and a waterproof, when the inevitable happens.

The all in one

These are everywhere in the shops in floral and geometric designs as well as plain and simple. I got mine at the beginning of the season and not a week goes by when I don’t wear it. I have worn it to meetings with a jacket and heals, to the pub with a suede biker jacket and with trainers to a Coldplay concert…you cannot go wrong, especially when you are jumping around in a field all day to music. My only reservation on this one is the challenges when venturing to the portaloos!

Mine is from Bodega Womenswear

The maxi

Be ready for any weather in a stunning print maxi. Great with comfy flat sandals and a denim cover up to finish off the look.

The cover up

A necessary item to pack for after dark. The choice is yours, parka, mesh top, padded jacket or the infamous kagool (this is where practically is needed over style!). Or you can really up your look with a beautiful  kimono-style long wrap.

The accessories

It goes without saying that we will pack our hat, sunnies and of course our wellies. Though if you don’t want to carry wellies check out these great cover-ups http://www.feetz.co.uk/ . They even have non-slip soles if you are having to wade through inches of mud!

Whichever festival you are going to I wish you a dry, dance-filled time- aided  by comfortable and creative clothes!!
